Redesigning Craigslist
Smashing magazine recently had a detailed post on how to redesign craigslist by Steven Snell. While the design is nice i stumbled upon this other redesign by the big noob that is much nicer. What do you guys think?

I like it, but I feel like maybe the yellow is somewhat distracting. The organization is much nicer. Then again I suppose if the yellow is to catch the viewer’s attention it works it’s just in my opinion, too much.

The design at Smashing Mag by Steven Snell was slapped ‘amateur’ and ‘out-of-focus’. Thou’ the effort in itself deserves heaps of praise, the design lacked the punch, and certain commentors did point out ‘thebignoob’s’ design, which according to me is a more mature approach.

thebignoob’s design is a much better not obly because it retains the ‘craigslist’ initial plan and look of simplicity but it doesn’ t change the site too much. When a site is put through a complete overhaul you run the risk of losing what people liked in the first place. thebignoob has got the right idea!
