Landor Boats
I was browsing the Landor site the other day and noticed a nice little detail at the bottom left corner of their site. As you navigate through the sections of the site the boat illustration changes. I love little details like this. Just goes to show that design is in the details!
Flying Spoons
Landor has some great new identity work for a chain of restaurants called Flying Spoons. Love the playful hand drawn wings vs the photographic spoon illustration!
The name Flying Spoons captures a hardworking spirit, attention to detail, and food that’s fast, simple, and delicious. The antique patina spoon represents a comforting, unpretentious, and indispensable tool. Wings—traditionally representative of a reward for exceptional work—lend an unexpected whimsy.
Another Take At The Recovery.gov Logo
USA Today asked designers to have a go designing a different logo for the Recovery & Stimulus act. While I definitely had some opinions of the new logo I have to say that I like this one much better.
The new digital era gives the administration a much more powerful set of tools to distribute information and report on the state of the stimulus plan. Obama has already proven that he knows how to use the web. Our solution gets rid of the old-fashioned and overused icons of leafy plants and outdated machinery cogs and gets to the modern heart of the message. The Obama administration wants you to go to the website to find out about the recovery effort.
