Great Corporate Portfolio – Benek
Good, clean corporate design is a precious commodity, so it’s refreshing to see a great portfolio of such work. Benek Design are a New Zealand outfit that I came across via one of Niki’s post sources.
The portfolio uses a slightly bizarre sideways scroll that took me a moment to get, and features some really lovely, elegant design solutions. Interspersed between work are client testimonials – a really great way to deliver them.
If you’re looking for a bit of corporate design inspiration, Benek Design is definitely a bookmark.

Wow thanks so much for the feature! This was a pleasant surprise. I feel honored.
I’m curious as to why you’ve classified it as “corporate design” when I though I had a variety that was more than just corporate?

Very cool that you posted this. Benek is my brother and of course he does great work! Good to see him get some recognition!

Great portfolio. But…I beg you all not to take any kind of inspiration from this site. Web 2.0. needs to die a horrible death and not to be encouraged. I’m sick of hearing the words ‘clean’ and ‘simple’, as it’s making designers lazy! Let’s face it, Web 2.0. looks like something from a template site with added gradients, pixel fonts and basic layouts.
Death to web 2.0. it’s served its purpose now lets bury it and let it rest in peace!
Now if that post doesn’t spark some comments, nothing will :D

I love the side ways scroll, I haven’t seen that too many places, a great way to show a lot of content on one page…

Hey Benek, you have a great variety, sorry I just refer to corporate as in not-arty maybe? Does that make sense, as in for real world businesses. It’s probably my own misnomer though! :-)
Either ways, fantastic portfolio!!

Wow Ani, that’s a strong statement. While I agree that the place for some “2.0″ design techniques are fading (glossy effects, big text reflections, etc.) and probably should be, I have to disagree that ‘clean’ and ‘simple’ make a designer lazy. It takes great skill to plan out and implement just the right amount of white space, colors, fonts, and everything else that contributed to making a web site ‘clean.’ And more importantly, web sites are created to convey information, and usability is very important. I consider the whole envato network, including this site, very clean, readable, easy on the eyes, and obviously, they’re about as far from lazy as I can see.
I respect your opinion, just throwing mine out there.

Oh, and Benek is a very fine piece of work in my opinion. Not the least bit lazy. Very interesting infact, with its textures, color choice and illustrations. Brilliant.

I’ve always loved Benek’s website. I don’t think it’s corporate at all, and I sure don’t think it’s “non-artsy”. Great detail is added into each piece and everything is perfectly placed. I love how simple and clean it is, yet is has spice!

Hey Benek
Good to see you featured… this is well deserved !
Your website is definately a memorable experience… you should now be interviewed so you can explain in your own words that you are neither corporate, nor artsy.
Congrats from South-Africa
